How your gift becomes clean air

Once, or monthly. Monthly gifts are the most useful to us, because they let us commit to installs before the money is fully in hand.

A family is matched and verified

Families apply through Get Help, or are referred by a partner clinic or school. We confirm eligibility and assess the home with a local partner.

A professional installs the unit

Not a box left on a porch. A trained installer places and commissions the unit, and shows the family how to run and maintain it.

We measure and report back

We record what actually changed in the home so our published numbers come from installs we did, not from a manufacturer's brochure.

What we can and can't promise

We would rather lose a gift than overstate what a filter does. So, plainly:

What the evidence supports

Portable air cleaners reliably and substantially reduce fine particulate matter — one of the most common asthma and allergy triggers — in the rooms where they run. This is well established in independent research.

What it does not

Air purifiers are not a treatment for asthma, and the research on whether cleaner air measurably improves asthma symptoms is genuinely mixed. We do not claim otherwise, and we never ask a family to substitute a filter for their doctor.

Before you give

Pure Air Foundation's 501(c)(3) status is pending — the application is in progress and we are actively working it through. We expect to have it in place, and we will update this page the moment the IRS confirms it.

Until that determination is issued, your gift is not tax-deductible. If it is granted, deductibility applies from the effective date the IRS sets — which may or may not cover a gift made today. We will not tell you your gift is deductible until it actually is.

Pure Air Foundation is affiliated with Pure Air Solutions but operates independently in the interest of the families it serves.

If tax-deductibility is the deciding factor for you, we would genuinely rather you wait until our determination comes through than give now and be disappointed.
